Best Time to Visit
The Rara Jeep Tour has the best weather, clear skies and peak mountain views in spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). In the winter months from December to February, it is very cold, but there are beautiful snow scenes to be enjoyed, while the monsoon season from June to August can be rainy with muddy roads and possible travel delays.
Road Conditions
This trek mostly involves paved roads but also off-road areas to reach the lake of Rara. The route is a challenge, but is advisable to be completed in a suitable 4WD vehicle. Weather, landslides and the maintenance of the road may affect road conditions.
Accommodation
It is possible to accommodate along the path in comfortable local hotel or guesthouses. In Rara Lake, the lodges provide simple but clean rooms, a warm welcome and the necessities. Due to its remote location, luxury accommodation is limited.
Pack warm clothes, a windproof coat, comfortable walking shoes, sunglasses, sun cream, a hat, personal medication, toiletries, a water bottle and a power bank along with a camera. It is also advisable to have a rain jacket and waterproof bag during the monsoon season.
Meals
